Meet the Governors
Welcome to our Governors section.
Our school is part of Christopher Nieper Education Trust (CNET) a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and as such is governed by Members, Board of Trustees (the “Trust Board”) and Academy Governing Boards (AGBs).
The Trust Board is responsible for the strategic direction, finances, and statutory responsibilities across all schools in the Trust.
Academy Governing Boards (AGBs) are responsible for supporting and challenging school leadership to ensure high standards of education, safeguarding, and wellbeing at a local level.

Role of the Academy Governing Board (AGB)
The Academy Governing Boards (AGB) main responsibilities include:
- Supporting and challenging school leaders to improve outcomes for pupils
- Monitoring standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
- Ensuring safeguarding arrangements are effective
- Understanding the needs of pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community
- Upholding the vision and values of the Trust at a local level
The AGB does not manage the day-to-day running of the school; this is the responsibility of the Headteacher and leadership team.

Governor Responsibilities and Links
Individual governors take on specific monitoring roles, including:
- Safeguarding
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Pupil Premium
These roles help Governors develop a deeper understanding of key areas of school life and provide effective challenge and support.

Attendance and Interests
Governors attend regular Academy Governing Board meetings and training provided by the Trust.
